How Much Does a Cleaning Service Cost in Toronto? (2026 Price Guide)
Most Toronto households pay $130 to $290 per visit for a standard cleaning, and $220 to $500 for a deep clean, depending on the size of the home and its current condition. Hourly rates from established companies run $45 to $70 per cleaner, while flat-rate pricing is quoted per property.
That's the short answer. The longer answer is where people actually save money, because two quotes that look $80 apart often aren't quoting the same job at all.
This guide breaks down what cleaning services cost across Toronto in 2026, what drives the number up or down, and how to read a quote so you can tell a fair price from a cheap one.
Toronto cleaning prices at a glance
These are typical market ranges across GTA providers. Your quote will land inside or near these depending on condition, access, and add-ons.
Home size | Standard clean | Deep clean | Move-in / move-out |
1-bedroom condo or apartment | $130 to $180 | $220 to $300 | $250 to $330 |
2-bedroom condo or 1+den | $160 to $215 | $260 to $350 | $290 to $390 |
2-bedroom house or townhouse | $190 to $250 | $300 to $420 | $340 to $460 |
3-bedroom house | $220 to $290 | $350 to $500 | $400 to $550 |
4+ bedrooms / 2,500 sq ft and up | $280 to $400+ | $450 to $700+ | $500 to $800+ |
Two things most price guides leave out.
First, these figures are before HST. Ontario adds 13%, so a $250 quote is $282.50 on the invoice. If a company quotes you "all in," ask whether tax is included. The difference is real money on a recurring service.
Second, square footage matters more than bedroom count past about 1,800 sq ft. Priced per square foot, Toronto cleaning generally works out to $0.10 to $0.17, with standard cleans at the low end and deep cleans at the high end.
The three pricing models you'll be quoted
1. Hourly
You pay per cleaner, per hour. Established, insured companies in Toronto like nowitsclean.ca charge $45 to $70 per cleaner-hour, with some premium operators above $80. Independent cleaners hired directly typically charge $20 to $45.
Hourly works when the job is genuinely unpredictable: a hoarding cleanout, an estate, a property nobody has touched in three years. It works against you on a normal home, because you're buying time rather than an outcome. If the team is slow, you pay for slow.
2. Flat rate
You're quoted one price for the whole job based on bedrooms, bathrooms, square footage and condition. You know the number before anyone arrives, and the cleaners are paid to finish the checklist rather than fill a clock.
This is the model we use at The Blessing Clean, and it's why our standard cleaning service is quoted as a true flat rate. As long as the home details you give us are accurate, the price you're quoted is the price you pay on cleaning day.
3. Per square foot
Common for commercial cleaning and larger properties. Straightforward for empty or uniform spaces, less useful for a lived-in family home where a 90 sq ft bathroom takes longer than a 300 sq ft bedroom.
What each service type actually costs
Standard cleaning: $130 to $290
Regular upkeep. Dusting, vacuuming, mopping, bathrooms, kitchen surfaces, stovetop, mirrors, and general tidying. This is the maintenance visit, priced for a home that's already been brought to a baseline.
That baseline matters. Most reputable Toronto companies, including us, require an initial deep clean before starting a standard-rate recurring schedule. It isn't an upsell. It's the only way a lower recurring rate is sustainable. Once buildup is gone, each subsequent visit is genuinely faster, and the price reflects that.
Frequency discounts are the single biggest lever on your annual spend.
Frequency | Typical rate vs. one-time |
Weekly | 15% to 25% lower |
Bi-weekly | 10% to 20% lower |
Monthly | 5% to 10% lower |
One-time | Full rate |
Deep cleaning: $220 to $500+
Everything in a standard clean, plus the surfaces that accumulate over months: baseboards, door frames, window tracks and sills, grout, light fixtures, cabinet exteriors (and interiors if empty), behind and under moveable furniture, and detailed bathroom scrubbing.
A deep clean typically takes two to three times as long as a standard visit on the same property, which is exactly why it costs what it does. If a company offers you a "deep clean" at standard-clean pricing, they are almost certainly quoting a standard clean.
Move-in and move-out cleaning: $250 to $550+
Priced higher than a deep clean because the scope is broader: inside all cabinets and drawers, inside the oven and fridge, closets, interior windows, and every surface in a now-empty unit. Our move in/out cleaning is scoped for exactly this, the handover clean that determines whether a deposit comes back or a listing photographs well.
Landlords and agents: this is usually the cheapest insurance available against a tenancy dispute.
Post-renovation cleaning: 1.5x to 2x a deep clean
Construction dust is a different problem from household dust. It's fine enough to settle into HVAC returns, light fixtures and fabric, and it re-settles for days after a normal clean. Post-renovation cleaning is priced higher because it requires multiple passes, specialized filtration, and often disposal of debris a regular crew won't touch.
Expect $400 to $900+ for a typical condo or single-floor renovation, more for whole-home projects.
Airbnb and short-term rental turnovers: $90 to $200 per turnover
Turnovers price differently from residential cleans because the scope is fixed and repeatable, but the timing window is tight and the quality bar is a guest review. Most Toronto operators charge per turnover for a one- to two-bedroom unit, with linen laundering, restocking and inventory checks billed separately or bundled into a host package.
If you're running a unit, Airbnb cleaning is a cost-per-booking line item, not a household expense, and a $30 difference per turnover is dwarfed by one bad cleanliness review.
Office and commercial cleaning: quoted per contract
Office cleaning and commercial services are quoted on square footage, frequency, traffic level, and whether washrooms and consumables are included. Nightly service for a small downtown office typically starts around $150 to $300 per visit. Weekly service for the same space costs more per visit but far less per month.
Add-on pricing in Toronto
These aren't included in a standard clean anywhere. Ask about them up front so they don't appear as a surprise line.
Add-on | Typical Toronto cost |
Inside oven | $38 to $70 |
Inside refrigerator | $45 to $130 |
Interior windows | $5 to $9 per window, or about $20 per room |
Baseboards (detailed) | About $40 |
Carpet cleaning | $50 to $150 per room |
Wall washing | $30 to $80 per wall |
Inside cabinets (occupied home) | $40 to $90 |
Laundry / linen change | $20 to $45 |
Our home arrangement service is quoted separately from cleaning, since organizing a space and cleaning it are genuinely different jobs with different time requirements.
Six factors that move your price
Size - Bedrooms and bathrooms first, then total square footage. Bathrooms are the most labour-intensive room per square foot in any home.
Condition - A home cleaned two weeks ago and a home cleaned last spring take very different amounts of time, even at identical square footage.
Frequency - Recurring service is cheaper per visit because less accumulates between visits.
Pets - Heavy shedding adds vacuum passes, lint work on upholstery, and filter time. Many companies apply a pet surcharge of $20 to $40.
Access and parking - Walk-up buildings, loading dock bookings, elevator reservations, and paid downtown parking all add unbillable time that ends up in the base rate somewhere.
Neighbourhood - A downtown condo near our King Street East office is a shorter, more predictable job than a detached home in North York or Etobicoke. Travel time and market demand both feed into local pricing.
Why the cheapest quote is usually the most expensive one
This is the part most price guides skip, so here's the arithmetic.
According to the Government of Canada's Job Bank wage data, light duty cleaners in the Toronto Region earn a median of $19.23 per hour, with the range running from $17.60 to $25.90.
Now work forward from that. On top of the wage, a legitimate company carries CPP and EI contributions, WSIB coverage, commercial liability insurance, bonding, supplies, equipment, transport, scheduling and admin. Realistically that lands a fully-loaded cost around $32 to $40 per cleaner-hour before a dollar of profit.
So when a quote comes in at $25 an hour, one of the following is true. The cleaner isn't insured, isn't covered by WSIB, isn't being paid properly, or isn't going to spend the time the job requires. If something is damaged or someone is injured in your home, an uninsured provider means the liability is yours.
How to get an accurate quote in five minutes
Count precisely - Bedrooms, full baths, half baths, and approximate square footage. Dens and finished basements count.
Say when it was last professionally cleaned - This is the single most common cause of a revised price on cleaning day.
Name the service type - Standard, deep, move-out and post-renovation are different jobs at different prices.
List your add-ons now - Oven, fridge, interior windows, inside cabinets.
Confirm three things - Is HST included, is the rate per cleaner or per job, and what happens if you're not satisfied.
Answer those five and any competent Toronto company can give you a firm number without a site visit. Book online or call (647) 955-1866 for a flat-rate quote on your space.
The bottom line
Cleaning service costs in Toronto in 2026 run $130 to $290 for standard cleaning and $220 to $500 for deep cleaning, with move-out, post-renovation and commercial work priced above that. Hourly rates from insured companies sit at $45 to $70 per cleaner.
The number that matters isn't the lowest quote. It's the quote where you know exactly what's included, who's coming into your home, and what happens if the work isn't right.
